About
Arezou Rezaei is an Iranian composer and pianist living in Stuttgart and Munich. She composes acoustic and electronic music, with a focus on composition for film and media. Her compositions cross genres, establishing a unique world for each piece.
Arezou received piano and composition lessons from an early age. At age 12, she debuted her own composition on the stage. Since then, she has played chamber music regularly in various ensembles as well as solo piano and focused on performing her own compositions. After graduating from school at 17, she moved to Tehran to study music. She took piano lessons with Professor Dr. Pooyan Azadeh and composition lessons with the Iranian composer Karen Keyhani besides to her pre-university education in General Arts at the Media Art school.
In 2015 she got into the Tehran university of arts to study classical composition and classical Piano. Two years later Arezou left Tehran and moved to Stuttgart to continue her studies in the state University of Music and Performing arts Stuttgart with Professor Martin Schuettler. In year 2022 she earned her Bachelor degree in Composition with the highest score. In Parallel, in 2021, she started to study Composition for Film and Media and the University of Music and Theater Munich with Professor Gerd Baumann.In the recent years her pieces have been performed in different cities and festivals by various Ensembles and musicians such as Mikrokosmos Ensemble, HMDK echtzeitEnsemble, Quasar Saxophone Quartet, Sirius Quartet and Ensemble der Stirling-Phil-Akademie of the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker. She is one of the winners of the 4th Tehran Electronic Music Festival and a member of the IFCA (Iranian Female Composers Association). In 2022 she won the composition commission for the BEYOND scholarship. The diverse influences showcase a variety of moods, textures, and themes in her pieces. From classical to electronic, jazz to experimental, she seeks to create something unique in each of her compositions.
